Description

The Golden DDA COVID-19 February 2021 Rent/Mortgage Grant Program provides direct financial assistance to eligible businesses located within DDA boundaries. The primary focus is the retention of jobs by Golden’s small businesses that have been affected by the pandemic.

Purpose

The program will provide partial rent/mortgage subsidy grants to eligible businesses impacted by COVID-19, subject to funding availability. The grant per business will be 50% of the February rent or mortgage payment, up to a maximum of $3,000.

Eligibility Requirements

• Independently-owned local businesses located within the DDA boundaries. 
• Businesses with 1 to 50 total employees (FTE) are eligible.
• Retail/food service/lodging/personal services (i.e. spas, barbers, salons) and small healthcare providers (i.e.-dentists, massage therapists) are eligible.
• Individually-owned franchises (including locally-owned/closely held LLC or similar) are eligible.
• Businesses that have previously received DDA, City of Golden CARES grants, and/or COVID-19 Business Recovery Loans are eligible.
• Sub-tenants, salon booth renters, food hall tenants, etc. are not eligible.
• Corporate-owned franchises are not eligible.
• Home-based businesses are not eligible.
• Professional service businesses, etc. are not eligible.
• Residential short-term rentals are not eligible.
• Big box stores over 10,000 sf are not eligible.
• The applicant must be current on all Golden sales tax and fees, or under an approved payment plan..
• Nonprofit organizations generally are not eligible. Applications from nonprofits that earn revenue from fee-based performances, exhibitions, and programs and have been impacted by COVID-19 (above) may be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Application Process

• Applications will be accepted from February 3, 2021 through the close of business on February 16, 2021.
• Applications will be available on the City of Golden COVID-19 Business Economic Assistance Page - https://www.cityofgolden.net/live/covid-19-economic-assistance/business-economic-assistance/. 
• PLEASE SUBMIT APPLICATIONS ONLINE (THIS FORM) ONLY. NO PAPER APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
• All applications will be given equal consideration. THIS IS NOT A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED PROGRAM. 
• All grant applications will be reviewed for eligibility.
• Applicants must attach proof of their February 2021 rent/mortgage payment.
• Applicants must attach their W-9 (even if a W-9 was previously submitted with other applications.)
• Applicants will be notified of grant approval by email from covid-19businessrecoveryloans@cityofgolden.net.
• If total eligible grant requests exceed available funding, applicants will be entered into a random lottery for funding, or funding requests will be proportionately adjusted.
• The DDA reserves the right to cancel the program at any time and for any reason.
